I was looking into Berkeley college, for Human Resources, online. I liked being able to take the entire program online, and get a bachelor’s in 3 years. But the more I read people’s opinions, it sounds like getting a job is a joke because Berkeley is comparable to University of Phoenix, etc.etc.
Can I get my degree online and still get a good job afterwards?

Attend a real institution with an online program. I’m talking about state schools specifically since they are cheap to begin with. When you graduate, nothing about your degree will state it’s online. Real proven institutions also have the resources you need such as internship and job placement opportunities. You can also opt to take directed reading courses with professors (can be done online in some cases!) which help you build a grad school resume. In contrast, for-profit institutions such as UoP aren’t interested in any of these things which further proves they are indeed a sham.
Cyndi,
A lot of people think that online schools are bad. The problem is most of those people have never attended one. I currently attend an online school called American Military University and it is great. AMU is regionally accredited, the same as any traditional school. AMU offers Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. The point is that if you want to do an online degree with the same level of respect as traditional schools, then check out AMU at amu.apus.edu. Just beware of some online schools like UOP and Kaplan as they are not good schools. Hope this helps.

I am also a graduate student at AMU like Corvus and I’m very satisfied with what my school provides from every single aspect. If a school is regionally accredited, it should not be a problem that it is online but online schools have good and bad reputation as well. Always look for a school that has regional accreditation and a real campus. I am hoping for a good job with my degrees even though I think I will want to complete another Master’s in a traditional institution in the future. Online education helps you save time that you would spend traveling to a campus and it is much more flexible – but it is not true that you won’t have to study a lot – I went to a brick and mortar college before starting my online education and I have to study much more as an online student. I’m not complaining, it is good that online education is not just a diploma mill and I am sure most employers realize that too. So my answer is just do what you want, you won’t regret it as long as you invest all your energy and ambitions into learning something new.
I wish you good luck!
