Is an online Bachelors degree going to be worth just as much as a traditional degree?

When a potential employer goes over my resume, is he/she gonna have a stack of online degree holders and a stack of “real” degree holders? I’d hate to spend all the time and money, only to find that my degree won’t hold up against someone with a brick and mortar degree.

Probably not as much. It will still be worth something (as long as the online university is accredited! If it’s non-accredited, it may not be worth anything to employers), but most employers will probably still view it less favorably than a traditional degree. Not because of you, but because online universities currently have not established themselves yet as providing good educations of a reliable quality, while many traditional universities have.

It’s not that your degree “won’t hold up” against someone with a brick and mortar degree either (for example, if you got A’s and the other person got B’s/C’s at the traditional university, you might get the job), but in an apples to apples comparison you will be at a disadvantage.

As long as the college (online or campus based) is regionally accredited, any degree you earn should be accepted by any potential employers or other academic institutions.
My best recommendation would be to contact a number of colleges to find the best fit for you and your needs (tuition, schedule, career opportunities, etc.). Too often people enroll in the first school they find rather than taking the time to find the best school for them. Taking that time now could save you a lot of time, money and frustration if you choose the wrong school.
This site has some good info on regionally accredited online degrees and some colleges that offer them to help expand your search:

I think you can enter your info on there for any colleges you are interested in and they will send you more info for free. Good Luck!

Well, this stacking of online and real college degrees used to be a norm when there was no governing body to give accreditation to online universities and fake universities were cropping up like anything. But nowadays, with US Deptt of Education giving accreditation, this mindset amongst employers has faded and both online and traditional accredited degrees are given equal importance.
While surfing, I found out this site http://www.thedegreeexperts.com which has a list of all the accredited universities in its portal.
